Print, Laminate and Cut

This section explains the operation method for the case in which printed media is removed, laminated or otherwise processed, loaded again in the printer or a cutting machine, and then cut.

Step 1:Print a job with crop marks

Follow the procedure below to print a job with crop marks used for position adjustment.
  1. Double-click or .
    The [Queue A (B) Properties] window appears.
  2. Click .
  3. Select [Crop Marks (Print&Cut Alignment)].
  4. Click .
  5. From the [Operation Mode] list box, select [Print Only].
  6. Configure the following settings if necessary.
    To rewind the media to the original position (position before printing) after printing
    Select [Return to Origin After Print].
  7. Click [OK].
    Note
    • If cut lines are drawn along the boundaries of the image in an EPS file, follow the procedure below before adding the EPS file to the job list. Otherwise, some outlines may not be cut properly.
    1. In [Queue Properties] window, click.
    2. Enter the value of 0.35 mm or more in [Margin] in [EPS].
      • Entering the value less than 0.35 mm does not add margins.
      • If you scale the image in the [Queue Properties] or [Job Settings] window, the size of margin is also scaled.
        If you add the job to the job list, the margins are automatically added along the boundaries of the image according to the [Margin] setting.
  8. Add the job containing cut lines to the job list, and then start printing.

Step 2:Cut the laminated media

Follow the procedure below to reload the printed media after lamination and then cut.
  1. Apply the desired post-processing such as the lamination, and then reload the media on the printer or cutting machine. If your printer or cutting machine requires the crop mark detection process before printing, complete it now.
  2. Display the [Job Settings] window.
    When using the same printer as when printing was performed
    • Select the printed job, and then double-click it.
    When using a cutting machine
    1. Select a job that has been printed, and then drag it to the job list (queue A (or B) folder) of the cutting machine.
    2. Select the job that you have dragged, and then double-click it.
  3. If the [Center on the media] check box is selected, clear it. If the [Center on the media] check box is selected, the printing and cutting positions may be misaligned.

  4. Click , and then check if [Crop Marks (Print&Cut Alignment)] is selected.
  5. Click .
  6. From the [Operation Mode] list box, select [Cut Only].
  7. Configure the following settings if necessary.
    To cut along all paths drawn in vector format
    Select [Cut All Paths]. All paths drawn in vector format are recognized as cut lines regardless of the use of the spot color (CutContour).
    To cut along the outline of the image regardless of cut lines
    Select [Cut Image Boundaries].
    To rewind the media to the original position (position before cutting) after cutting
    Select [Return to Origin After Cut].
    To configure the cutting conditions of your printer
    Select [Enable Advanced Settings] to configure the cutting conditions.

  8. Click [OK].
  9. Start printing.

    The printer detects the crop marks to adjust the position of the media, and then performs cutting.
