Automating the RIP'ing and Printing Process

In [Queue Properties], you can set to automatically process jobs that are added to the job list.

RIP'ing or printing a job automatically

Jobs can be automatically RIP'ed or printed when they added to the job list.
  1. Double-click or .
    The [Queue A (B) Properties] window appears.
    Tip
    • When printing from another computer (client), select the input folder used for processing the jobs received from clients.
  2. Click .
  3. From the [Action] list box in [Action for Incoming Jobs], select one of the following settings:
    RIP and Print
    Both RIP and printing are automatically performed when a new job is added to the job list.
    RIP Only
    Only RIP is automatically performed when a new job is added to the job list.
    If you select [Auto Rotate to Save Media], VersaWorks Dual automatically rotates the job 90 degrees to save media when the length of the image is bigger than the width.
    This setting functions independently from the setting in [Action]. Even when you set [Action] to [Do Nothing], the auto-rotating feature is enabled if you select [Auto Rotate to Save Media].
  4. Click , and then configure the media size in [Media Settings].
  5. Click , and then configure the settings of [Media Name] and [Print Quality].
  6. Configure other settings as needed.
  7. Click [OK].
  8. If you add a job to the job list, the selected process is performed automatically.

Saving or deleting a job automatically after printing

Intermediate files or jobs can be automatically deleted after printing.
  1. Double-click or .
    The [Queue A (B) Properties] window appears.
  2. Click .
  3. From the [Action After Printing] list box, select one of the following settings:
    Save Job
    Keeps the job after printing. Since the RIP data is also kept, you can reprint the job without the RIP process.
    Delete RIP Data
    Deletes RIP data only. The job remains in the job list. To reprint the job, you need to re-RIP it.
    Delete Job
    Deletes the job from the job list completely.
  4. Click [OK].
  5. Add the job to the job list, and then start printing.
    Basic Printing Operations
    After the job is printed, the selected process is performed automatically.
