Viewing Job Log Information

You can view the information about jobs processed in VersaWorks Dual, such as their contents and the date and time when they were processed, in the [Job Log] window.
You can save the log information to a CSV or XML file. You can open the saved data in a spreadsheet program or other application and use it for cost management.

Step 1: View the job log information

Display the [Job Log] window.
  1. Select [View] - [Job Log].
    The [Job Log] window appears. The window includes the following information:
    Event Type of process that is being performed or that has been performed
    Nick Name Printer model name or the nickname
    Job Name Name of the job
    Size File size of the original data of the job
    Print Area Size of print width and height
    Ink Consumption Amount of ink consumed in printing
    Start Time Date and time that the process (shown in "Event") started
    End Time Date and time that the process (shown in "Event") finished
    Details Information such as the error category and cause (if an error occurs during the processing of the job)
    Tip
    • To delete a job log entry, perform one of the following operations.
      • Select the log entry that you want to delete, right-click in the job log window, and select [Delete Log].
      • Select the log entry that you want to delete, and then click .
    • Initializing VersaWorks Dual clears all job logs.
  2. To view more detailed information about a job, select the job's log entry, and click .
    The [Detailed Job Log] appears.
    Event Type of operation that is being performed or that has been performed
    Nick Name Printer nickname
    Job Name Name of the job
    Size File size of the original data of the job
    Page Size Size of the page
    Media Name The type of media used
    Copy Number of copies printed
    Print Area Size of printed height and width
    Input Time Date and time when job was registered in the folder (Queue A or Queue B).
    RIP Start Time Date and time when RIP processing started
    RIP End Time Date and time when RIP processing finished
    Print Start Time Date and time when printing started
    Print End Time Date and time when printing finished
    Setting Folder where the job is registered (Queue A or Queue B)
    Ink Consumption Amount of ink consumed in printing for each color
    Details Information such as the error category and cause (if an error occurs during the processing of the job)
  3. To close the [Detailed Job Log], click .

Step 2: Save the job log information

Save the job log information.
  1. Select the log entry that you want to save.
    You can select multiple entries by holding [Ctrl] while clicking the entries.
  2. Click .
    The [Save As] window appears.
  3. Enter a name into the [File name] box, and select a file format from the [Save as type] list.
    You can set the file format to CSV (comma-separated values) or XML.
  4. Click [Save].
    The file is saved to the location that you specified.
