Materials can be created individually or sorted into material groups.

A material or a material group can be assigned to a template.

If a part should also be able to have a material group as material property, this must be activated in the general settings under Prepare.

New material:

Note: If the “Material” tab is not active, the required license is not available. If this is the case, no new material can be created.

Materials can be added via the "New" new_32 button. These can be created as ungrouped/grouped items or as a description for a group.

If a material is to be assigned to a group, simply select the corresponding group for the material. A corresponding group must have been defined.

The name determines whether the material is recognized when parts are loaded. If the name does not match the CAD name, the material is not recognized.

This problem can be solved by using synonyms. To do so, enter the material name from the CAD system as a synonym for the material by clicking the green plus icon

in hyperDENT.
